The JEE (joint entrance exam) is administered to provide student access to undergraduate engineering programs such as B.E / B. Tech and B.Arch / B.Plan programs in India at NITs, IIITs and other colleges for technology. The National Test Agency (NTA) is now performing this national level comparative test twice a year in January and April; the forthcoming dates for the examination are January 6-11, 2020, and April 3-9, 2020.
NTA will release the admit card on its official website. As of 6 December 2019, candidates who have applied for the JEE Main 2020 can download their JEE Main 2020 admission card for the January session. The examination is carried out in online mode (Computer Based Test) and takes 3 hours to complete. The outcome of JEE Main January will be announced by NTA on January 31, 2020.
Since JEE is only two months away, students now have the time to start preparing their revision approach. A good revision technique can help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, boost speed and accuracy, and also help you control your time. Here are a few tips to help you create an optimal JEE approach.
1) Focus on Daily Practice:
It is important to spend time practicing questions rather than constructing theories for logical clarification of any subject. Solve at least 20 relevant questions per day (previous year questions discussed on our platform and advanced questions). Because numerical form questions have been adopted by the NTA, make sure that you prepare according to the current test format.
2)Priority and plan:
Set small goals, such as the update of a certain number of topics in a day and the amount of relevant questions that need to be answered regularly. Of science, the most important topics to focus on are chapters like Dynamics, Electrostatics, Wave Optics, and Magnetism. The related sections of Chemistry are Atomic Structure, Electro-Chemistry, Kinetics and Chemical Equilibrium, General Organic Chemistry and Chemical Bonding Compound. Students should concentrate on trigonometry, calculus, vectors, and 3D for maths.
3) Use a research schedule:
You will use your time efficiently by following a time table. Your timetable will help you determine how much time every chapter has to spend. Prepare short notes or use flash cards for the first time while revising. This will help to retain knowledge and reduce the amount of time during the second revision.
4)Importance of Mock Tests:
You should try 2 mock tests in a week to prepare for real-time exams. This will help you develop the ability to stay calm under pressure. Just as cricketers practice in the net before the match to get acquainted with the pitch, you also need to experience the real-time examination environment to prepare for the actual examination. Mock tests help you to identify your areas of weakness. You should note these topics and focus on them in particular.
5) Plan for Test Day:
Scoring good marks is all about deciding which questions to answer first and which to try later. In the first round, you’re sure you’re going to get wrong. Round one is supposed to take about an hour. Attempt questions in the second round that you’re 70% sure of, you can do this by removing the wrong options. It should take about 60-90 minutes for the second round. In the third round, it’s all about taking a risk, identifying issues you think it’s worth taking a risk, and then carefully attempting to avoid negative marking. These issues are a topic of multi-concept. So, if you’ve got time left, make sure you’re going to ask one more question all around.
Remember, smart preparation and a calm temperament are the cornerstone to score better. Only when you have a positive mindset does consistency and motivation come. Try to restrict your social media access. Do not meet friends who lead you to doubt yourself. Your attention should only be on clearing JEE exams at this training stage. When you feel stressed at any point, do not hesitate to contact therapists or take support from members of your family. Incorporate these points in the development of your two-month examination strategy and do your best.
