About AIIMS (ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES)
Established in 1956 as an autonomous body under an Act of Parliament as an Institute of National Importance. The Entrance Examination for admission to the M.B.B.S. Course of the Institute is held every year usually in the first week of June. Test Centers are in following 9 Cities. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Mumbai.
CourseDuration : 5½ years including one year compulsory internship.
Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification : Passed or appearing 12th class under 10+2 scheme conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as CBSE or ISCE, M.P Board, Maharashtra Board etc with English and Medical Group of subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) having obtained 60 % (50% for SC/ST and foreign candidates) of the total marks in aggregate including optional subjects.
Minimum age : 17 years on the 31st December of the year of admission.
Number of chances : No candidate is permitted to compete for more than two times at the competitive examination.
Method of Selection: The eligible candidates are required to appear at a Competitive Entrance test conducted by the Institute. The examination will be 3½ hours duration and will consist of one paper consisting of four parts, viz., Part A,B,C and D containing objective-type (Multiple choice) questions.
